Dr. Raymond Nneji Ihenacho, FNIM, is an accomplished retired Director of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History & Sociology (Second Class Upper Division) from University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), a Master degree in Development Studies (with specialization in Public Policy and Administration) from the International Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, The Netherlands and a doctorate degree in Management. Additionally, he has a certificate in Management with distinction from the prestigious Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Badagry. Dr. Ihenacho served on various committees of Federal Government of Nigeria during his years as civil servant. He served as Chairman, Action Committee on Raw Materials that transversed many African countries preaching the gospel of import substitution for industrial growth of African countries. He also served as member of Election Monitoring Groups set up by ECOWAS to monitor elections in some West African Countries. At various times, he served as member of Accreditation Committee set up the National universities Commission (NUC) to assess the desirability of some management courses in Nigerian Universities and served as member of Inter-departmental Investment Promotion Committee coordinated by Nigerian Investment Promotion Council (NIPC) that went to USA on investment drive. Dr. Ihenacho joined the Nigerian Institute Management as an Associate member in 1988 and became a full member in 1995. Due to his visible commitment and contributions to the Institute, he was upgraded to the prestigious grade of Fellow in 2003. He has served the Institute in different capacities at different times including being a two time former Zonal Chairman, North Central Zone of the Institute (2011 – 2015) during which the zone won the Best Zone Award in 2014, and a contestant from the Zone also won the Institute’s Young Managers Competition for the first time. Apart from first joining the Council of the Institute in 2012, Dr. Ihenacho who has always being an active and prominent member of Maitama Abuja Chapter served as Chairman, Maitama Chapter Electoral Committee (2019-2021). He has also served in many committees of Council including, member, Restructuring and Implementation Committee; Member, Programmes Committee, and Chairman, Inter-Departmental Synergy Committee. In recognition of his meritorious service to the Institute over the years, he was elected the National Treasurer on December 19, 2022. Dr. Ihenacho is also a Fellow of some other reputable professional bodies including Fellow, Chartered Institute of Administrators; Fellow, Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria and Fellow, Institute of Professional Financial Managers, London. A renowned certified management consultant and world class facilitator, Dr. Ihenacho who is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Mekkembuk Consultants Ltd., is an Accredited Management Trainer by the Federal Government of Nigeria. He is happily married with Children.
